The
ranger told us before we launched our boats that less than 2% of the
Grand Canyon has been explored and that small percentage is just
along the Colorado River corridor. Our river map's author said that
after 30 years of exploring that “if the canyon is a large cat, I
have seen but just one hair.” It is hard to capture the vastness of
the Grand Canyon in one photograph. I had the opportunity to row the
river for 18 days in the fall of 2014 and took over 6,500 pictures. Every day was
different. Sometimes the canyon could change from one mile to the
next. These images attempt to capture an every changing landscape and
the magic contained within its steep walls.
